Overview: The Hotel Director of Sales is a pivotal role within the hospitality industry, responsible for driving revenue through effective sales strategies while also overseeing the front desk operations. This position requires a blend of sales insight, leadership skills, and operational expertise to ensure that both sales targets and guest satisfaction levels are met.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy Development:

· Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to maximize revenue across all hotel segments, including corporate, leisure, group bookings, and events.

· Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and adjust strategies accordingly.

· Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional campaigns that align with sales objectives.

2. Team Leadership:

· Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and collective goals.

· Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team’s selling skills and product knowledge.

· Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and high performance.

3. Front Desk Management:

· Oversee front desk operations and scheduling to ensure exceptional guest service is delivered consistently.

· Implement standard operating procedures for check-in/check-out processes, reservations management, and guest inquiries.

· Monitor front desk performance metrics such as occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), and guest satisfaction scores.

4. Client Relationship Management:

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel agents, corporate accounts, and event planners.

· Conduct site visits for potential clients to showcase hotel facilities and services.

· Address guest concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and foster loyalty.

5. Financial Management:

· Provide regular reports on sales performance metrics to management.

6. Collaboration with Other Departments:

· Work closely with other departments such as housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance to ensure seamless operations that enhance guest experiences.

· Participate in cross-departmental meetings to align on service delivery standards.

7. Market Research & Analysis:

· Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed about industry trends, customer preferences, and competitive positioning.

· Utilize data analytics tools to assess performance metrics and inform decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel sales or a similar role; experience leading front desk operations is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of hotel management software (PMS) systems such as Opera or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a competitive environment.
